HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA MARIE PRESLEY
A Beautiful Tribute to The Relationship of The King & His Princess
This week marks the birthday of Elvis’s only child Lisa Marie. Born to Elvis and Priscilla Presley on the first of February 1968 in Memphis Tennessee. She was born exactly 9 months after the wedding of her parents. That makes us think they had a great Wedding night celebration!
This Video is put together so beautifully with images of Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa Marie. You can from the see from the images the love and bond that they shared.
The video is made emotional by a beautiful song being sung in the background. This is not Elvis or Lisa Marie but an American Country singer called Kellie Coffey covering Luther Vandross’s song, “Dance with my father”. Luther received ‘Grammy Song of the Year’ in 2004 for this particular song, only a short time before his death.
The song Kellie sings ‘Dance with my Father again’ is such a heart-wrenching song that brings tears to our eyes when we look at the images of the King and his daughter.
Luther wrote the emotional lyrics about his own father who use to dance with him and his mother and who sadly died when he was only 7 years old. Lisa Marie was only 9 years old when Elvis passed away so the memories that she must have will be similar to Luther’s memories portrayed in this song. Having parents pass away at such a young age, must have an incredible impact on ones life and up-bringing.
Altough Lisa Marie was only 9, it seems that her and Elvis had an very strong bond, that obvisouly helped shape Lisa’s view of the world and fame that her father had left for her.
With thanks to Lisa Marie, Elvis & Priscilla Presley, Kellie Coffey and Luther Vandrossfor reminding us of the sweetness of all father-daughter relationships.
